The King Of Kings

Revelation 19:16: And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Some of my definitions: The foundation of power over all other foundations of power, the sovereign king over all other sovereign kings. The Supreme Authority over all other authorities, the Controller of all other controllers, the Master of all other masters and so on.

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Often we don*t seek the King first. We leave Him out altogether and/or rebel against Him.

Isaiah 30:1: Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: 2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

Rebellious children take advice from someone other than God, they want to be covered by anything but the Holy Spirit, they add sin to sin, they go DOWN into the world, they live their lives without asking God what to do, how to do it and when. Egypt is a type of the world. They strengthen themselves in the (comparatively weak) strength of the world. They have faith in the world. That was me for the first half of my life. But I have learned that I could not have a Kingdom without the King. There are not words to define how hopeless I was when sin was my king or to define how wonderful it is with God as my King.

Romans 6:14: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 7:1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

1 Peter 5:11: To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:25: To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 1:19: And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Revelation 1:6: And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

When He is the King of our lives, He gives us power to reign over our sin.

Romans 6:16: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Has He become your King? Is your allegiance to Him?
